This is a personal learning site, so it collects very little. Here is all of it, in plain words.
Analytics
The site uses OpenPanel, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count page views, clicks on outgoing links, and a few named events (for example, starting the Duel or finishing a lesson animation). This is used only to see which lessons people use, so the next ones can be better. It isn’t used for advertising, and the data isn’t sold or shared with anyone.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address goes to Substack, which sends the newsletter. Substack’s own privacy policy covers that data, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The site itself doesn’t store your address.
Your browser’s storage
A few settings are kept in your browser’s local storage and never leave your device: your light or dark theme, the Field Guide terms you’ve marked as understood, and whether the Duel’s sound is muted. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
Hosting and embedded sites
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The Projects page shows live previews of the free apps it lists; those apps are separate websites with their own policies.
Questions or deletion
Questions about any of this, or want something removed? Email [email protected] and it will be handled.
